City of Blue Island Discover Blue Island, The Historic Heart of Chicago Southland
Deputy Secretary of the Interior Lynn Scarlett, along with Advisory Council on Historic Preservation Chairman John L. Nau III, announced the second round of Preserve America Grants for 2008, including a $102,250 award to Blue Island for the development of Comprehensive Cultural Heritage Marketing & Outreach Strategy. The project will involve a joint effort between the Community Development (formerly Planning) and Marketing Departments, the Historic Preservation Commission and the Chamber of Commerce.
