Test Of The Emergency Alert System – 11/9/11 at 1pm

1st Ever Emergency Alert System (EAS) Nationwide Test

The federal government will conduct the 1st nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) – Wednesday, November 9, 1pm.

The test will last up to 3 1/2 minutes and during this period, regularly-scheduled television, radio, cable, and satellite shows will be interrupted.

The City of Blue Island, Police, Fire, and 911 Communications would like to reassure that this event is just a test, and not a real emergency alert.
