MetroSouth is requesting a tax reclassification that will financially help the hospital as it strives to enhance care and expand access and services in our community. Please join us in urging our county officials to help MetroSouth so they can continue to provide health care and much-needed jobs in the Southland.
It is important to know that while MetroSouth is asking for a reduction in its property tax bill, it will still be one of the biggest property tax payers in Blue Island and the surrounding area. And for over 100 years, the hospital didn’t pay any property taxes at all, so this reasonable request will benefit everyone in our community. We will help keep our hospital financially healthy and we will still see a needed boost in property tax revenues.
