Blue Island’s Model Communities Coalition hosts 1st Annual, Food Day Healthy Food Drive
From Oct 10-24, we’ll be collecting healthy, non-perishable food items for local food banks.
Food Day is about expanding access to and promoting SAFE & HEALTHY foods, while reducing diet-related disease. So, Please read labels and avoid items with high fructose corn syrup, heavy sugar, and high sodium levels.

- • Canned Fruits & Vegetables (Low Sugar & Low sodium)
- • Peanut Butter and other nut butters (Low Sugar)
- • Canned & Boxed Meals (Low Sodium, Low Preservatives)
- • Canned or Dried Beans
- • Whole Grain Pasta & Rice
- • Whole Grain Cereal, Crackers (low sugar)
