Some monks want to buy you a beer. And they want to perform charitable work.
A divine hand has guided them to Blue Island and the Cal-Sag Trail.
March 9, 6-9 PM at Blue Island’s Rock Island Public House (RIPH) the monastic brewers of La Trappe will buy 40 patrons a round of its trappist beer, first come/first served. The beers will be served in traditional chalices, and each participant receives a free raffle ticket (additional tickets can be purchased for $1). When the barrel runs dry, RIPH will raffle off three bottles of La Trappe’s rare Oak-Aged Quadrupel, and patrons will be able to purchase their chalices.
A portion of the proceeds from the 40 beers bought by the monks, and all of proceeds from additional raffle tickets and the chalice sales are donated to the Friends of the Cal-Sag Trail.
All evening long, RIPH patrons can purchase La Trappe on tap and donate to the Cal-Sag Trail. Friends of the Cal-Sag Trail will be in the House sharing information about the trail that’s connecting Cal-Sag communities and creating a 100 mile trail loop entirely within the Southland.
The RIPH is an easy trip from the city on the Metra Rock Island or Metra Electric. Lift up a glass of La Trappe, and lift up the Cal-Sag Trail!
