The City of Blue Island mourns the passing of Fifth Ward Alderman and Mayor Pro Tem, Michael Janko. In 2008 Mike was elected Fifth Ward Alderman and served as the Chairman of the Municipal Services Committee. As a lifelong resident of Blue Island, Mike attended District 130 public schools, Dwight D. Eisenhower High School and graduated from Moraine Valley Community College.
As President of Mother McCauley Fathers Club, past Chairman and Board Member of the Blue Island Historical Society, former Board Member and President of St. Walter School, past Board Member of Blue Cap School, a member of the Blue Island – Cal Park Troublemakers Athletic Association, and instrumental is founding Driving the Dixie, Mike embraced his sense of commitment to his Community.
