The National Fire Prevention Association, Fire Prevention week (10/6-10/12) theme was Prevent Kitchen Fires. The Blue Island Fire Department held a poster contest with Blue Island Grade Schools and the winners were K-3rd, Miguelangel Mercado, Paul Revere school; and 4th & 5th, Genevieve Healy, Paul Revere Intermediate.
