College students from Lehigh University and Community College of Philadelphia volunteered their spring break to work for Habitat for Humanity. Nick Crite, Building Commissioner, was able to get them to volunteer in Blue Island. Students and teachers removed snow from sidewalks on our bridges, removed snow in front of Senior’s homes and helped in the Public Works garage. Mayor Vargas thanked students from Community College of Philadelphia on their last day in Blue Island. Blue Island thanks all the students, teachers and Habitat for Humanity for helping out in Blue Island!
