The Blue Island Police Department will be conducting Roadside Safety Checks in conjunction with the Illinois State Police as part of our Christmas/New Year’s Traffic Safety Campaign. The current campaign runs through January 4, 2015, and incorporates “Click It Or Ticket” seatbelt/child restraint enforcement as well. The Traffic Safety Campaign is funded by the Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP), a federal grant, and is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
