Mayor Domingo Vargas; Alderman Nancy Thompson; and Alderman Tom Hawley, receive the “A Heart that Cares Award” from the “Women of Worship” from the Glorious Life Worship Center, 12654 Maple Avenue; for their participation in church sponsored events that helped the Blue Island Community.
Glorious Life Worship Center(GLWC) 12654 Maple Avenue, is under the leadership of Pastor Pagel J. Williams and first lady Pastor Karen Lynn Williams. Women of Worship (W”OW is an outreach ministry that has a deep passion to help people in need in our community. WOW sponsored Advance Her Chance recovery home under the leadership of Rachel H. Youth Ministry, awarded three College scholarships and organized a Back to School supply drive. On December 20, 2014, WOW hosted a gospel entertainment dinner for the needy and was honored to have Mayor Domingo Vargas and Alderman Tom Hawley in attendance.
