Snow removal in the City of Blue Island has been conducted on a continual schedule for over 60 hours. Public Works crews have been divided to provide snow removal both during the day and in the evening. The first priority is to keep clear of snow the main arteries to provide easier access for both Police and Fire Departments to accommodate emergency calls. With the snowstorm over, Public Works is now concentrating on clearing side streets.
