Black History Month Events

Black Culture Nite
This Free event will highlight the life of Maya Angelo (1928-2014) Documentary by Historian Dr. Kelly Harris. The evening includes music, entertainment, refreshments and a door prize drawing. Friday, February 20th at the City Hall East Annex, 2434 Vermont Street from 7:00-9:00pm and is hosted by Neighborhood Watch Group #37.

In celebration of Black History Month, popular Folk Artist, Chris Vallilo, will be performing. Free tickets are available at the Library’s Main Desk at 2433 York St.

Where: Blue Island Historical Society Albee House, 13018 S. Maple Ave.

Wednesday, February 25th from 4:00-6:00pm in the Tech Annex in the Blue Island Public Library, 2433 York Street. Registration is required.
