The City of Blue Island borders the west end of the Calumet Heritage area, with the Indiana Dunes bordering the east end. The Calumet Heritage Partnership (CHP) is facilitating a feasibility study to help designate a Calumet National Heritage Area. As part of this effort, public meetings are being held dealing with the Arts, History and Industry in the Calumet region. The Field Museum is conducting these Community Conversations. If you are a current or former industrial worker, union member, historian, Calumet resident — this gathering is for you!
