April was a good month for Blue Island. Mayor Vargas, City officials and staff came together to celebrate Arbor Day at the newly reopened Blue Island Recreation Center at 2805 W 141st Street. Students from Posen Robbens School District 143 1/2 joined the Mayor to help plant trees.
We also welcome our newest business, the Blue Island Beer Co. Located at 13357 Olde Western Avenue, BIBC returns a tradition of brewing to Blue Island that’s been lost since prohibition! Stop in and give their local craft brews a try, or ask for them at your local restaurant or tavern.
