Drivin’ the Dixie

Saturday, June 20th

The Dixie Highway marks its 100th anniversary this year. Routed in 1915, it was the first north-south paved “interstate” highway that stretched from Chicago to Miami. To celebrate this milestone, the A’s R Us Model A Ford Club and participating Dixie communities are installing signs in Blue Island, Posen, Markham, Hazel Crest, Homewood, Flossmoor, Chicago Heights, Steger, Crete, Beecher, Grant Park and Momence as well as several downstate communities. The Drivin’ the Dixie event starts this Saturday in Blue Island! It will go from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at Union and Western.
