Join the Blue Island Fire Department’s efforts for MDA include the organization’s spirited Fill the Boot campaign, in which firefighters hit the streets and ask pedestrians, motorists, and other passers-by to contribute – money in the boot – for MDA. Firefighters also devote countless hours every year at MDA Summer Camp sessions around the country, where thousands of children with muscle disease experience a week of barrier-free fun while gaining confidence and independence.
