Next Monday, August 17th, the City of Chicago will begin work on the Longwood Avenue sewer improvement project. The project will begin on 119th street and work its way north. One lane, for eastbound traffic, will remain open. Both westbound lanes will be closed. There will be message boards stationed at Western and Vincennes along with detour signs to alert drivers.
Westbound traffic will be rerouted, via Vincennes, to 127th and Western. CTA buses will make stops at 119th and Vincennes, 127th and Western and the terminal at 119th and Western.
The work is expected to be finished by September 21st.
