The City of Blue Island intends to apply for an EPA Brownfield Cleanup Grant for the City’s property at 11941 & 11945 Vincennes in Blue Island, IL (abandoned buildings at 119th & Vincennes). A public meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 6:30pm in the Blue Island East Annex, 2434 Vermont Street, Blue Island, IL.
A draft copy of the City’s grant proposal which includes a draft copy of an Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) document will be available on the City’s website at www.blueisland.org [here] on December 4, 2015 through December 18, 2015. Interested persons are encouraged to review and comment on the draft grant proposal and ABCA by either attending the Public Meeting on December 16, 2015 or by emailing the City’s Sustainability Officer, Jodi Prout, at jprout@cityofblueisland.org.
