The City of Blue Island Continues Making Road Rehabilitation a Priority

The City of Blue Island is taking to the streets to evaluate road conditions as part of its ongoing priority to maintain and repair critical infrastructure and ensure road safety for residents and all motorists travelling on City roadways.

The city will be conducting a pavement evaluation survey to measure the condition of city streets, the results will be used to carefully assess the need, timeframe, and cost estimates for repairs, and to develop a management plan for future roadway maintenance. The survey will be performed City-wide, covering over 45 miles of locally owned streets, which will all be driven as part of the inspection.

The Mayor and City Council know the importance of infrastructure maintenance and are always looking out for the best interest of the residents. This pavement evaluation plan will provide City Officials with a tool to preserve and repair the roadways and target repairs to the streets most in need.
