Dear Blue Island Neighbors:

As we continue in Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan, and the tiers of mitigation to prevent a resurgence in the spread of COVID-19, Cook County has issued additional guidance for our Region based on a recent uptick in positivity rating and hospital admissions:

On Friday, June 26, Blue Island moved to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan. The guidelines for Phase 4 can be found here:

In response to rising COVID-19 transmission rates in other areas of the country, the State of Illinois has also introduced a mitigation plan to help determine if our area needs to roll back any areas of social gatherings and activities based on metrics from IDPH. Blue Island is in Region 10. You can find those metrics, updated daily, by clicking here: http://dph.illinois.gov/regionmetrics.

The City Clerk’s Office and Building Department have reopened. The second floor of City Hall is accessible by appointment only.

Blue Island Public Library has resumed in-library services and regular hours. Learn more here: https://www.blueisland.org/newblueisland/2020/06/12/library-operations-programming-summer-2020/
