Blue Island PD Announces Online Tool for Crash Reports

Beginning September 1, 2020, visitors to the City of Blue Island website, www.blueisland.org, will have access to an online portal for crash reports from LexisNexis.

LexisNexis® eCrash is a service to law enforcement agencies that offers an online accident/crash report management solution to help agencies automate their crash reporting process.

“For a small department like ours, fulfilling requests for accident/crash reports can be time-consuming and costly,” says Blue Island Police Chief Bernadine Rzab. “Using LexisNexis® eCrash technology, we’re able to simplify and streamline the process, build a more efficient police department, and create a more citizen-friendly process.”

At the scene of a traffic crash, involved parties will receive a LexisNexis information card from the reporting officer, with information on how to obtain a copy of the crash report. Involved parties can either forward the information to their vehicle insurance provider, or obtain the report themselves. Those unable to obtain a report on-line may do so at the Blue Island Police Department.
