Blue Island, Region 10 Remain Under Tier 3 Mitigation Measures

During Governor Pritzker’s weekly Coronavirus briefing held January 15, he announced that Region 10, which includes Blue Island and suburban Cook County, will remain under Tier 3 Mitigations. The decision was based on test positivity ratings, available hospital and ICU beds, and COVID patients in the hospital.

To move to Tier 2, Region 10 must meet the following metrics:

Test positivity rate below 12% for three consecutive days (7-day average)

AND

Staffed hospital and ICU beds ≥ 20% for three consecutive days (3-day average)

AND

Sustained decline in COVID patients in hospital (7-day average over 7 of 10 days)
