Tree Planting – May 1
Several trees have been purchased as part of the remaining Tree Canopy fundraising efforts, and a group of volunteers is needed to help plant them around town. Meet at the Library, 2433 York St, at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 1st.

Chicago River Day in Blue Island – May 8
Chicago River Day returns to Blue Island on May 8! This annual clean up of the Chicago River and the waterways that connect to it is a great way to get outside, learn about the incredible nature right in your backyard, and give back to your community. This event is from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Waterfall Park/SEPA Station #3. Streetscape Container Planting – May 16
Each year, a group of volunteers is needed to help install fresh greenery and flowers in the planters along Western and Old Western Avenues. Meet at the front steps of City Hall at 9:00 a.m. for a short demonstration.
