On Friday, October 22, 2021, the City of Blue Island set up a temporary, small water line to help supply our neighboring town of Dixmoor with clean, running water. The town of Dixmoor is paying Blue Island for the water. Blue Island, in conjunction with the City of Chicago Water Commissioner and the Illinois EPA, set up the water line after Dixmoor’s existing water supply lost pressure and residents were without running water for 7 days.
