Blue Island Police Dispersing Hyundai Steering Wheel Locks; Kia Pedal Locks To Curb Auto Thefts

BLUE ISLAND, Ill. – The Blue Island Police Department is warning Kia and Hyundai drivers about an increase in vehicle thefts. The vehicles are being targeted because thieves have found a way to bypass security features to steal them.

To assist, Blue Island Police Department is dispersing Hyundai Steering Wheel Locks and Kia Pedal Locks to Blue Island residents with qualifying vehicles.

Cmdr. Dennis Sepessy with the Blue Island Police Department said there is a form for residents with affected vehicles to sign up to receive the locks. The form can be accessed at https://www.blueisland.org/new3/steering-wheel-lock-program/.
